Taking a break...

I have been truly blessed this season to photograph and get to know so many amazing families and children. I am so thankful for your business and for the opportunity to capture special memories for you. I do admit that receiving Christmas cards on a daily basis with an image that I took is such a fun experience. It makes sorting through the other junk mail and bills quite bearable...and often enjoyable!

As this year comes to an end, I am looking forward to some down time. I will be taking a few months, if not more, to simply spend time with my family and enjoy the day to day blessings that we have been richly given. Jude should be making his grand entrance into this world (and straight to my arms!!!) in about 6 weeks, and I think I will do nothing but hold him and gaze into his eyes for at least a month!

SO, until further notice, I will not be taking any more photo sessions. I have NO clue what this next year will hold for our family. But I do know that I don't want to look back and say to myself "My photography business was rocken, but I don't remember my children growing up!"

I truly desire to be there for them; guiding, teaching and loving with undivided attention along the way.

When (and if) I feel like I can manage a business and give my whole self to God and to my family, I will slowly take on more sessions. But for now, I will nest, rest and breathe:)

Feel free to send me an email if you would like my opinion on local photographers whom I would recommend. I have a couple favorites out there:) whom I know you would absolutely love too!

Thank you again for such a wonderful year. You have been a blessing to our lives and make what we do such an awesome experience!

We wish you a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

A Letter.

Dear Self,

Please update your blog.

At least put some photos up from recent sessions.

Please finish editing the two amazing weddings that you shot last month.

Please send the camera off that you dropped to be fixed.

Please put your 26 week pregnant feet up.

Please rest your body once in a while.

Please give your husband a huge hug tonight when he gets home.

Please relax & go eat a peanut butter covered banana with m&m's on the side....

Thank you in advance!

Love,
Me

I was super excited (and a little nervous) when the very talented photographer Brandon Aguire (http://http//www.brandon-aguiar.com/) asked me to take he and his beautiful fiancee's engagement photos a few weeks ago.
The night before I could barely sleep as thoughts were running through my head..."What if I am holding the camera wrong? What if none of them turn out? What if I say stupid things?...." but my crazy emotions were calmed very quickly in their presence. Two amazing people with hearts of gold, full of love for others and each other. I barely had to do any work. Valerie is a model, so she naturally worked it and was awesome to take photos of. And Brandon, a photographer, knows what he wants and likes in an image!
We had a great time getting to know one another a bit, laughing (at each other and ourselves:), and simply enjoying what we all love to do.
Their wedding is going to be a fabulous event next summer...purely because they are two fabulous people in LOVE!

Thanks Brandon and Valerie! You guys rock!

AppleSauce Designs
One of a kind clothing...

Last weekend I had the amazing opportunity to work with two incredibly talented clothing designers, Liz and Monica of AppleSauce Designs. Their company designs & creates beautiful one of a kind clothing from vintage material and accessories. AppleSauce designs clothing is sold locally (Queen Mabs) as well as on the web at http://www.applesaucedesigns.com/. Check out their amazing collection!

I have to brag on these sweet little models for a minute...
When I woke up the morning of our photo shoot it was pouring down rain. I automatically thought "How can we possible shoot 20 dresses in this weather?" I called Liz to see if she wanted to reschedule but one of the models was going out of town that afternoon for a week. We decided that we would go ahead and try to make the best of the rain!
Well, it rained the whole shoot. I was followed around with a small children's umbrella most of the time, but was still soaked from head to toe. These little girls (and precious baby boy) were amazing. They modeled 20 outfits and kept their smiles strong! What a FUN time we had!
I think they were all rewarded with Chucky Cheese after the shoot. I am sure they took a great nap for mom and dad that afternoon!!!

It was a privilege working with you Liz and Monica. Thank you!
